Biography
David Carper began his education in photography in the award-winning program taught by Byron Baldwin, of Charlotte, North Carolina, graduating in 1981. He spent much of the following years improving his skills by exploring and photographing the world around him, as well as studying the works of other photographers. During his four years spent living in Arizona, he was able to learn and hone new techniques, including the use of the 4x5 camera. David’s works have been represented by Himal Gallery in Charlotte, NC, The Mat Corner Art Gallery in Tempe, AZ, and Art Cellar in Mesa, AZ. More recently, his photos have been displayed in previous Cathedral Arts shows, a juried show in Jersey City, NJ, and at the Art Center of Battle Creek in Battle Creek, MI. Other shows and awards include: Cedar Lane Alive! 2005, Teaneck NJ. Awarded Second Place overall Pascack Valley Art Show, 2006; Westwood NJ. Awarded Blue Ribbon for “High Achievement” Millburn-Short Hills (NJ) Art Fair. Artistic Achievement Award
